In the years since Arnaldo Cohen came to the attention of the critics and public, the Brazilian-born pianist has enjoyed an increasingly successful career which has taken him to the world's major concert halls. He has performed with orchestras such as the Royal Philharmonic, the Philharmonia, the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, Orchestre de la Suisse Romande and Santa Cecilia of Rome. He has played with many leading conductors including Kurt Masur and Yehudi Menuhin. His recently acclaimed performances with the Philadelphia Orchestra have resulted in his being re-invited to perform four concerts in the Philadelphia Orchestra's Subscription Series in 2003, conducted by Wolfgang Sawallisch.

Mr Cohen started his musical studies at the age of five, graduating from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro with an honours degree in piano and violin. Whilst studying engineering at University he also worked as a professional violinist in the Rio de Janeiro Opera House Orchestra. After studying under Jacques Klein, a pupil of William Kapell for four years, he continued his training in Vienna with Bruno Seidhofer and Dieter Weber.

Arnaldo Cohen was awarded First Prize in the 1972 Busoni International Piano Competition in Italy. He made Europe his permanent home after a concert at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam - replacing Martha Argerich - which made him a prominent figure in the European music world.

Apart from solo appearances, he has performed in the Amadeus Piano Trio and with the Lindsay Quartet, Chilingirian Quartet, Orlando Quartet and Vanbrugh Quartet.

His London Wigmore Hall recitals have attracted outstanding reviews as have his many appearances throughout the world including triumphant recitals in New York.

Arnaldo Cohen has been selected to serve on several juries including the Chopin competition in Warsaw and the Busoni Competition in Italy, and has received an Honorary Fellowship from the Royal Northern College of Music.
